Elberton Utilities is a department of the City of Elberton, Georgia. Elberton Utilities is a full-service department providing Electric, Natural Gas, Water, and Wastewater services to homes and businesses in the City of Elberton and to a large portion of Elbert County. Elberton Utilities is a community-owned utility where 100% of all profits and proceeds are reinvested in the community to benefit the citizens of Elberton and Elbert County. The Public Works Department also provides Solid Waste and recycling services to homes and businesses inside the city limits of Elberton.
Electricity
The City of Elberton fuels local industrial demand as part of Georgia’s modern integrated electrical transmission system. Coal accounts for 84% of fuel used by the state’s power-generating plants, compared to 47% for the U.S., assuring long-term continuity.
Telecommunications
The latest incentive from the City of Elberton is a fiber-optic broadband telecommunications system under the name ElbertonNET. It enables the City to offer video and data capabilities to businesses of all sizes. High-Speed Internet and Cable TV are available throughout the entire City limits and beyond, including the Elberton Industrial Park with ongoing expansion efforts to help citizens stay connected. ElbertonNET also offers additional enterprise products are available such as Point-to-Point Private Line Connections and a 24/7 Network Operations Center.

Our community has local natural gas supplied by the City and available in industrial quantities on both a firm and a temperature-sensitive basis.

Consumption: 1,600,000 gal/day maximum
Storage capacity: 1,250,000 gallons elevated, 500,000 gallons elevated under construction; 600,000 gallons ground storage.
